How to use Cropy
Crop, resize, convert, scale, and compress images online
Cropy is built for cases where final pixels and output file size both matter before uploading to a service. Cropy is especially useful for sets of similar images where the settings mostly repeat, but each file still needs a small manual adjustment: nudging the crop, changing scale, or tuning quality. Cropy keeps the main settings in place and makes those adjustments fast. Upload a PNG, JPG, or WebP image, crop a fragment, resize through width, height, and scale, convert format, or compress JPEG/WebP through quality. Practical workflows
Exact size from repeated screenshots
Use Move image when you need an exact-size file from a large area that is not marked precisely in advance, such as an app workspace from a set of similar screenshots. Set the final pixel dimensions first, use the arrow keys to place the top-left corner of the crop frame, then adjust scale with + and -.
- The top-left corner is the scale anchor.
- Dimensions, scale, position, format, and JPEG/WebP quality are saved for the next images.
- The next screenshot of the same format usually needs only a small arrow-key adjustment.
A specific fragment or icon from an atlas
Use Select area when you need a smaller, specific fragment. Draw a rough selection, move it with the arrow keys, or switch to Move image to tune the frame, width, and height more precisely. Then switch back to Select area and use + and - to find the final scale.
- Works well for cutting similar parts from one source image.
- After the first fragment, dimensions, scale, format, and JPEG/WebP quality are already set.
- For the next fragment, you usually only move the selection.
Compress a JPG/WebP for an upload limit
When a service limits uploaded file size, choose JPEG or WebP and lower quality until the estimated output file size fits. Cropy automatically recalculates the file size after changes and shows it before download, without saving to disk or uploading the source image to a server.
- The size is calculated for the current crop, format, and quality.
- JPEG and WebP are useful for manually tuning output file size through quality.
- PNG also shows its exact size, but it is not controlled by the quality slider.
Convert and compress without changing dimensions
Use Convert when you need to change PNG/JPG/WebP format or compress JPEG/WebP output file size without cropping or changing width and height. Cropy exports the whole source image, keeps the source image dimensions, and recalculates file size when you change format or quality.
